Jensine Paoletti-Hatcher, PhD (she/her)
Dr. Paoletti-Hatcher is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Portland State University. She will be admitting new graduate students for the 2025-2026 school year.
Dr. Jensine Paoletti-Hatcher’s program of research uses a biopsychosocial approach to make work-life balance more feasible and healthier for everyone. Her research draws from several disciplines, especially occupational health psychology and psychoneuroimmunology. She studies the way work-life experiences affect self-reported wellbeing, biological processes associated with quality of life, and diseases of older adulthood. Specifically, she researches positive and/or stressful work-life experiences and associated interpersonal processes. Previously, she was a Ruth L. Kirschstein NIH National Research Service Award (F32) Postdoctoral Fellow, studying how people balance working and caring for a spouse with dementia. She received her Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Rice University. Dr. Paoletti-Hatcher has published in outlets such as Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes and Psychoneuroendocrinology.
